Strength Training

Strength Training – Exercise that increases the functional capability of the muskuloskeletal system through gravity resistance training.  Gravity acts on all inanimate and organic objects including the human body. The muskuloskeletal system resists the forces of gravity acting on the body or an object, such as a dumbbell, barbell, kettlebell etc.  The fundementals of strength training and general fitness are the same for each body but the training objective will vary from person to person.   The fundementals of fitness are neccessary for achieving any training objective.  Understanding the fundemmentals and knowing the perscription for a given objective is neccesary for achieving the desried outcome.

There are four basic strenght training objectives.

Muscular Endurance

Muscle Hypertrophy

Muscular Strength

Muscular Power
